For valves to be installed underground, when indicated in Valve Data Sheet, the external surfaces of the buried portion of valves shall be painted with three oats of suitable coal tar epoxy resin with minimum dry film thickness of 3 microns. 8.2 Manufacturer shall indicate the type of corrosion resistant paint used, in the drawings submitted for approval. 8.3 All valves shall be marked as per API 6D.
