The hollow shaft must be aligned exactly to the machine shaft when the gear unit is fitted onto themachine shaft. Canting must be avoided. Instead of the nut and threa ded spindle shown in the diagram, other types of equipment such as hydraulic lifting unit may be used. NOTICE Property damage Damage of the rolling bearings possible by canting when fitting the gear unit. The hollow shaft may be tightened against machine-shaft collar only if the gear unit configuration isone of the following: - Torque arm 6.7.2.3 Axial fastening If the shrink disk is fitted according to instructions (see item 6.7., the gear unit is fixed securely in the axial direction. Additional axial fastening is not required. 6.7.3 Shrink disk The shrink disk creates press-fit connection between hollow shaft and stub or machine shaft (in the following referred to as "stub shaft"). The press-fit connection can transfer torques, bending moments and forces. The jointing pressure between the hollow and stub shafts generated by the shrink disk is essential for the torque and/or force transmission. The shrink disk is delivered ready for fitting. WARNING Serious physical injury Risk of injury possible from airborne parts of the shrink disk. The shrink disk must not be disassembled before fitting for the first time.Fitting and start-up must be carried out by properly trained specialist personnel. Prior to start-up these instructions must be read, understood and adhered to.
