Furthermore, it was observed that although prolonged soaking of whole seeds in water increased the cooking times of respective dehusked splits, soaking in 1% solutionof sodium carbonate generally decreased it considerably. According to this study, differ-ences in the cooking time of dehusked splits were signicant, owing to genotype andpretreatments.
