However, these systems are often resource and cost intensive. We are working on resource optimization and efficiency for our wind customers. With our HybridDrive powertrain, we have reached new level of product efficiency, resulting in the product being named Best Powertrain oftheYear 2 by WindPower Monthly Magazine. Why? With this powertrain, we have set new standards and significantly increased system efficiency and safety. Critical resources required for the energy transition are saved and costs arereduced. The compact design saves resources With the HybridDrive, we have developed drive for wind turbines that saves 8.5% of the rare earth materials and 9% of copper compared to previous commonly used offshore drive concepts. The situation is similar (8%) with electrical steel. Due to the reduced dependence onthe raw materials mentioned, there iscurrently rethinking in the wind industry towards the new medium-speed drive concepts such as the HybridDrive. Compared to conventional geared drives, the HybridDrive is unique because itcombines the previously separate components of transmission and generator into particularly compact drive unit and requires 5% ofthe space compared to conventional geared drives. Flexible application options The HybridDrive is flexible and suitable for different concepts of onshore and offshore wind production.
